Olive leaf (Nurturing for all skin types especially maturing skin)
Olive leaf is not only fantastic to take internally, it also boasts many benefits for use on the skin. It is a powerful anti-oxidant & tonic for ageing skin. This extract is soothing, hydrating and an astringent that helps to tone, firm and promote elasticity. Presence of flavonoids and oleanolic acid aid in repairing the skin from damage caused by UV rays and assists with the wound healing process.
Aloe vera (Incredible support to all skin types)
Aloe vera really needs its own feature, it is just magical!! The plant contains enzymes carboxypeptidase and bradykinanase which aid in reducing swelling, itching, inflammation and pain, particularly with burns and wounds. It also contains notable levels of vitamins C and E as well as zinc enabling faster healing. Polysaccharide properties aid in epidermal growth and tissue repair. Aloe vera is also known to be very effective in treating cold sores and shingles.
Bilberry (Wonderful for all skin especially oily)
Bilberry is a bacteriostatic meaning that it has antiseptic properties. It has a purifying and soothing impact on the skin. This extract contains anthocyanin,a flavonoid that works powerfully against free radicals and protects the walls of blood vessels. Anthocyanins have also been shown to stabalise collagen and stimulate blood circulation.
Avocado Butter (all skin types)
Made from the oil of the fruit which is put through a hydrogenation process resulting in a soft light yellow buttery consistency. Avocado butter offers the same properties as using avocado oil itself - Nourishing, hydrating, moisturising and softening. Avocado offers welcome relief to dry, cracked skin. Jojoba Butter (great option for oily skin types)
Created by cold pressing the seed kernels of jojoba, the oil that results from this process is then blended and hydrogenated with another oil to get the buttery consistency. Jojoba is known to lighten and heal scars and is said to penetrate pores to reduce moisture loss. Jojoba butter is a fantastic non greasy option that creates a protective film over the skin and seals in moisture. It is said that jojoba closely resemble human sebum due to both consisting of mainly wax esthers and fatty acids making it a great option for oily prone skin types. Jojoba butter and oil is said to be an effective treatment of psoriasis and eczema conditions.
Jojoba beads (face)
As the skin on your face is more delicate to that on the rest of your body dermatologists recommend using a smooth completely rounded particle when exfoliating to avoid scratching the sensitive surface of the face. Jojoba beads are the perfect option as they are not only completely smooth and rounded by they are also natural and gentle on the skin as well as the environment (jojoba beads are biodegradable). As a bonus jojoba beads are also known to help acne problems in some individuals (when used in conjunction with a proper skincare routine). It is important to avoid microbeads (made of plastics) as they are toxic marine polluters.
Ground walnut shell (body)
Walnut shell is the perfect abrasive for removing did skin from the rest of the body. The shells are often discarded when the nuts are cultivated to be sold for consumption. They are natural, biodegradable and non-toxic and are super effective in sloughing off dead skin.
Olive Green (great for oily skin types)
Contains magnesium, calcium, potassium, manganese, phosphorus, zinc, aluminium, copper, selenium and cobalt. This clay possess strong detoxification qualities and great scar repairing capabilities. The mineral properties in olive green clay aid in minimising pore size and strengthening skin.
Ghassoul (aka Rhassoul, Moroccan Red Clay) - Great for oily, comb, normal – not recommended for sensitive)
This clay is high in trace elements such as silica, magnesium, iron, calcium, potassium and sodium (esp. silica which is great for toning the skin). It absorbs excess oil from skin and clears clogged pores. Moroccan Red clay softens the skin and is suitable for sensitive types. The properties of this clay provide a high absorbency rate and the ability to draw toxins out from the skin.
Pink Aussie clay (Beneficial to dry/sensitive skin types)
Rich in minerals iron oxide and selenium, pink aussie clay is said to improve the overall texture of skin. It also assists in hydration and firming of the skin. This clay is excellent for dry, stressed and sensitive skin types as it has a softening and soothing affect. This clay is to be used in conjunction with other clays at a range of between 5 - 30%.
